Robots and congress because of Bill G., Something sounds fishy ;-)
I'm eager to see the Robots linked to their producers 24/7, v-chip-like talk and other tapping/remote control techniques. Unlike the author, I'm not sure congress can even start to understand the concept of ethic and even less so after a sentence like this:
"Ensuring that our nation remains globally competitive as the robotics industry rapidly expands and begins to exert a profound effect on the way our citizens live their lives."
Lives will surely change... Now is the time to build EMPs, anyone has a portable one to suggest?

A legal case about the status of Laptop as more than just a luggage that they can search. Steve man would be happy if it was indeed recognized as a prothesis of the human body... I hope i'll stumble on the result pretty soon.

This is an _EXCELLENT_ documentary about the change in the music industry. It's very well done and, as i'm guessing our readers are already aware of this, it would be perfect to show to your mom. So have fun and spread the new culture :-)

As Michael Geist pointed out, it's very easy to see why the united states (WIPO) wants more IP (intellectual property) laws.

Let us consider how we get access today. We have long been used to buy internet access from companies or, for some "lucky" few, academics and such. If we are to have a word to say on this network we need to own at least some part of it in some way. In this sense, I'm not saying no commercial entity can exist, to the contrary, just the fact that in residential areas, for example, we should either own our networks and manage them democratically or have a strong sets of rules to protect the users. An internet bill of right in some way... Producing content is no guarantee of ownership of this content as we regularly see in web's site agreements. An infrastructure for and by the people must be put in place so people's choice of licenses on content they produce can have some value.
